From Our Idaho Kitchen to Your Airport: The Story Behind the Label

If you’ve grabbed something to eat while traveling through the Boise Airport or Salt Lake City International Airport, there’s a chance you’ve already enjoyed something made by Simple Bites Meals — even if you didn’t realize it.

Our products in the airports are sold under the airport retailers’ branded names, so you may not immediately recognize them as ours. But take a closer look at the bottom of the front label. If you see Simple Bites Meals, that product came directly from our kitchen in Meridian, Idaho.

And we think knowing that matters.

Real Food Made by Real People

It’s easy to grab something from an airport cooler and never really think about where it came from. Was it made hundreds of miles away? Did it pass through a large distribution center? Who actually prepared it?

When you see Simple Bites Meals on that label, the answer is much closer to home.

Our food is prepared and packaged by real people in our USDA-inspected Meridian kitchen. Our team comes in every day to prep ingredients, assemble meals and grab-and-go items, package them, label them, and get them ready for delivery.

And then we deliver them ourselves.

The same small Idaho business making your food is also loading it up and getting it to the airport. Our Boise deliveries stay right here in the Treasure Valley, and our Salt Lake City products make the journey from our kitchen in Idaho to Utah with us.

There are real people behind every step.

That Little Name on the Label Means Something

We know our Simple Bites name isn't always the biggest name you see on the airport packaging. But we're incredibly proud of the little Simple Bites Meals printed at the bottom.

To us, it represents more than where the food was manufactured.

It represents a family-owned Idaho business that has been growing for more than two decades. It represents our employees who show up every day and take pride in what they make. It represents the early mornings, long delivery days, recipe testing, food safety, packaging, and thousands of little details that go into getting food from our kitchen into your hands.

So when you pick up one of our products at the airport, you're not just buying something to eat before your flight.

You're supporting a small Idaho business.

Your Purchase Stays Closer to Home

Supporting small businesses doesn't always look like shopping at a little storefront downtown.

Sometimes it looks like grabbing breakfast, lunch, or a snack on your way to your gate.

Every Simple Bites product purchased helps us continue employing local people, purchasing supplies, growing our business, developing new products, and creating more opportunities for our Idaho-based company.

We are proud that something made by our team in Meridian can be enjoyed by someone flying across Idaho, heading home from Utah, traveling for business, visiting family, or starting a vacation.

That's pretty special to us.

Look at the Label

We encourage everyone to get into the habit of looking at the labels on the food they purchase — not just for nutrition information or ingredients, but to see who actually made it.

The brand on the front of a package doesn't always tell the whole story.

So the next time you're walking through the Boise or Salt Lake City airport, take a peek in the grab-and-go coolers. And when you pick something up, look toward the bottom of that front label.

If it says Simple Bites Meals, you'll know exactly where it came from:

A kitchen in Meridian, Idaho.
Made by real people.
Packed by real people.
Delivered by us.
And made by a small Idaho business that is genuinely grateful for every single purchase.

From our family and our entire Simple Bites team — thank you for looking at the label, choosing our food, and supporting local. ❤️
