There Are Real People Behind Your Meal

When you open your refrigerator and grab a Simple Bites meal, you probably aren't thinking about everything that happened before it got there.

You see a meal that's ready to heat and eat.

We see the people behind it.

We see the early mornings, the busy kitchen, the chopping and cooking, the portioning and packaging, the labels being applied, the orders being checked and the vans being loaded.

There are real people behind every Simple Bites meal—and that's something we're incredibly proud of.

It Started More Than 20 Years Ago

Simple Bites didn't begin as a big food manufacturing company.

Our story started in 2002 with a little coffeehouse called Me Time Coffeehouse. Over the years, our business changed, grew and evolved—from coffeehouse to catering and eventually into the prepared meals and wholesale food business we have today.

What hasn't changed is who we are.

We're still a family-owned Idaho business.

We're still hands-on.

And we still care about the food leaving our kitchen because our name is on every package.

Today, Simple Bites operates from our 13,000-square-foot USDA-inspected kitchen in Meridian, Idaho, where our team prepares meals for individual customers, businesses and retail locations.

That's a long way from where we started—but we haven't forgotten how we got here.

Your Meal Passes Through a Lot of Hands

Before one of our meals ever reaches your refrigerator, there's an entire team behind it.

Someone receives the ingredients.

Someone preps them.

Someone cooks them.

Someone portions each meal.

Someone packages and labels it.

Someone checks the order.

Someone packs it.

And someone makes sure it gets where it needs to go.

These aren't machines working anonymously somewhere across the country.

They're people. Our people.

They're the people we see every morning. The people who work beside us. The people whose families depend on this business just like ours does.

And because we operate under USDA inspection, food safety isn't simply something we talk about. It's part of what we do every day—from how food is prepared and handled to how it's packaged and stored.

We're a Family Business—Literally

When we say Simple Bites is family-owned, we mean it.

Our family has spent more than two decades building this company, and we're still involved in the day-to-day operation of it.

Some days that means working in the office.

Other days it means solving a problem in the kitchen, talking with a customer, packing an order, loading a van or putting hundreds of miles on the road to make sure our products reach their destination.

Small business ownership isn't always glamorous.

But it's ours.

And we're proud of what we've built.

Simple Bites is also a woman-owned and veteran-owned business, and those aren't just boxes we check on a company description. They're part of our family's story and part of the values that have shaped how we run our business.

When You Buy Local, It Really Does Matter

“Support local” is something we all hear a lot.

But what does it actually mean?

For us, it means jobs.

It means paychecks for local families.

It means buying supplies, maintaining equipment, keeping delivery vehicles on the road and continuing to invest in our Idaho facility.

It means giving a local business the opportunity to grow.

When you purchase from Simple Bites, you're not sending an order into some enormous, faceless corporation and hoping someone somewhere notices.

We notice.

We notice when a longtime customer places another order.

We notice when someone tries us for the first time.

We notice when you tell a friend about us.

We notice when you share one of our posts.

And we absolutely notice when someone takes the time to send us a message saying, “I loved that meal.”

Those things matter more to a small business than you might realize.

We're Making More Than Dinner

Of course, our job is to make food.

But what we're really trying to give our customers is something even more valuable:

Time.

One less thing to figure out at the end of a long day.

One night without chopping vegetables and washing pans.

An easy lunch waiting in the refrigerator.

A freezer stocked with meals for the weeks when life gets crazy.

Something quick for a parent running between work and activities.

Something convenient for someone who lives alone and doesn't want to cook an entire recipe for one person.

Or simply the freedom to say:

“I'm not cooking tonight.”

We think that's worth something.

From Our Kitchen to Your Table

Simple Bites has grown tremendously since our little coffeehouse days, and we're excited about where we're headed.

But no matter how much we grow, we never want to lose the part that makes this business special.

The people.

So the next time you pull a Simple Bites meal out of your refrigerator or freezer, know that there was a whole group of real people behind it.

People who cooked it.

People who packed it.

People who delivered it.

And a local family that's genuinely grateful you chose us.

Thank you for supporting Simple Bites.

Thank you for supporting our team.

Thank you for supporting a local, family-owned, woman-owned and veteran-owned Idaho business.

And most of all, thank you for allowing us to put a little bit of our family business on your family's table.

From our kitchen to yours—thank you for choosing Simple Bites. ❤️
