FRESH INGREDIENTS

Flat iron steak

Olive oil

Red bell pepper

Green bell pepper

Garlic

Ginger

Salt

Pepper

Soy Sauce

Sugar

Corn Starch

Rice

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Preheat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2 Cook Rice

Place rice in a small oven safe dish, add 2 cups of water. Place aluminum foil over the top and seal. Bake for 30 minutes then stir. Check the rice to see if it is tender. If the rice is looking dry, add a bit of water. Check again in 15 minutes, if it is a bit al dente, you can keep it covered and in the oven on warm.

3 Cook Vegetables

Meanwhile, heat 1 tsp oil over medium high heat in a large pan. Add the peppers and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until just tender. Remove the peppers from the pan and place on a plate.

4 Cook Steak

Add the remaining oil to the pan. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste. Increase heat to high. Add the steak to the pan and cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Add the garlic and ginger, then cook for 30 seconds, place peppers back in the pan with the steak

5 Serve

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, 2 Tbsps water and cornstarch. Pour the sauce over the steak mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce has just thickened, then serve over rice.
